TNA project : Chemical reaction visualizations: Development and assessment

Acronym : 87-Chemical reaction visualizations Development and assessment-Lahuerta

Project Lead : Pascual Lahuerta From : Universitat de Valencia

Dates : from 1st May 2013 to 12th May 2013

Description :

Motivation and objectives :
Develop teaching material that ilustrate intimate mechanistic aspects of chemical reactions and evaluate their pedagogical value

Teams :
Prof. Angel Herraez. (Alcala). Computing aspects. Use of Jmol. Prof. Gabino Carriedo (Oviedo). Inorganic Chemist, Reaction mechanisms Prof Pascual Lahuerta (Valencia) Inorganic Chemist, Catalytic reactions These three Prof have been working on the different task related to the project.

Dates :
starting date : 01 May, 2013
ending date : 12 May, 2013

Facilities descriptions :

Recordings & Results :
The common activities of the visitor and the hosts focused on structural data of molecules as well as solutions' reactions and gases. The pedagogic principle is to claim a general claim and lead the students to understand why this claim is true through simulation.

Conclusions :
The common activities of the visitor and the hosts focused on structural data of molecules as well as solutions' reactions and gases. The pedagogic principle is to claim a general claim and lead the students to understand why this claim is true through simulation. At the ESML we modeled together the process of creating a chemistry simulation and further attempts were made to improve this process. I leave the Technion convinced that we managed to continue the sort of collaboration
