Title : The LIGHT SHEET EXPERIENCE

Project Lead : Emmanuel Reynaud From : The "R" Lab (Ireland)

Dates : from -- to 2014-10-09 11:15:43

Description :

Motivation and objectives :
Light Sheet Microscopy provides us with large 3D datasets of living organisms for long period of times and we wish to develop new tools to visualize and manipulate them. This concerns Developmental biology, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology and Stem Cell biology as well as 3D bio printing

Teams :
We collaborate with Carl Zeiss Microscopy and help with the release of the Light Sheet Z-1 as well as the OPenSPIM project. We aim to further develop this 3D microscopy approach by runnig workshops (already more than a hundred took place), organize conferences (5 yet), book (one in progress) and free software (FIJI)

Dates :
starting date : 13 July, 2014
ending date : 25 July, 2014

Recordings & Results :
Light Sheet Microscopy provides us with large 3D datasets of living organisms for long period of times and we wish to develop new tools to visualize and manipulate them. This concerns Developmental biology, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology and Stem Cell biology as well as 3D bio printing.

Conclusions :
1.Tested different formats of 3D data generated by light sheet microscopy using volume rendering techniques of OpenCOVER 2. Tested large datasets up to 1TB 3. Tested interaction with the dataset (limits, colour scheme, time lapse, feasability...) 4. Generated Images and Videos of the data 5. Discussion about future collaboration and installation of OpenCOVER on guest systems - Establishing rules and designing tutorial
